Outsourcing Your Lawn Care

Outsourcing Your Lawn Care

There are perks and drawbacks to outsourcing your lawn care.  Outsourcing is simply hiring a lawn care to look after your lawn rather than doing it yourself.  More and more people are choosing this option just because they don’t have the time to take care of their lawns themselves.  You might think it is only businesses with huge grounds to maintain that are doing this but more and more it is the average homeowner hiring someone else to look after the lawn.  Let’s look at the advantages and disadvantages of hiring a lawn care company.   Bear in mind that lawn care in most cases includes spraying for weeds and ticks, it is more than just cutting some grass.

Advantages of Hiring a Lawn Care Company

Let’s start with the advantages of hiring someone.  Firstly, as long as you hire a reputable company then chances are they will do a better job than you do.  This is what these companies do every day and they are very good at it.  More often than not they are also quicker than you are at cutting your lawn too, making the whole thing more cost effective as well.  That holds true for homeowners as well as for businesses.  After spending more than 40 hours a week working, commuting and dealing with all of the other responsibilities you have, do you really want to spend your weekends cutting the grass and pulling weeds?  Probably not.

The Disadvantages of Hiring a Lawn Care Company

There are disadvantages to hiring a lawn care company, it is not always sunshine and roses.  The lawn care company that you hire may have too  much work and can’t give your lawn the same attention that you would like.  To them you may be just “another lawn they have to mow” so they get in and out as fast as possible and on to the next job.  For some people lawn care and gardening is something that they enjoy doing and would prefer not to hire out to get the work done.  And lastly some people simply cannot justify the expense.  If you have a small postage stamp sized lawn then hiring someone to care for it may be more expensive than it is worth, especially if you can mow it in a couple of minutes.

Ultimately it is up to you whether you want to hire a lawn care company or not, but it may be worth your while if you’re busy or have a big piece of property to look after.
